About Marco

Born and raised in Northern New Mexico, Marco understands the needs and goals of our diverse communities. He has lived here all of his life and is committed to our values and culture. This is his home and always will be.

Marco graduated from St. Michael’s High School in 2001 and received his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and Public Administration from the University of Arizona in 2005. Marco earned his Juris Doctor Degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2008. He has a distinguished career serving as a New Mexican Assistant Attorney General prosecuting Medicaid Fraud and Elder Abuse. He later served as an Assistant District Attorney in Valencia and Sandoval Counties where he prosecuted Domestic Violence and DWI misdemeanor offenses. He currently serves as First Judicial District Attorney in Santa Fe, Los Alamos and Rio Arribo Counties.

Marco’s lifelong commitment to public service provides him with an understanding of the unique challenges facing our families. As First Judicial District Attorney, he has worked tirelessly to solve many of the problems facing our communities. From a treatment-oriented approach to our deeply entrenched drug problems, to cracking down on violent crimes, Marco has been on the front line defending and protecting our communities.

Marco recognizes that many of the problems facing Northern new Mexico simply cannot be solved on the local level. That is why he has decided to run for Congress – to represent his neighbors, family and community, and to make certain northern New Mexico has a fierce advocate in Washington D.C.!
