Valerie Plame’s promotion of an article titled “America’s Jews are driving America’s war is a classic example of hate speech. The article, in its entirety is included with this report. The copy of the article asserted that Jews “owned the media “, Jews should wear labels while on national television , and their beliefs are as dangerous as “rat poison”. When confronted with complaints, Ms. Plame told her critics to “calm down, retweets don’t imply endorsements. Yes, very provocative, but thoughtful”.

One of the other articles she tweeted accused Israel of orchestrating the 9/11 terrorist attacks involving “Dancing Israelis. In her campaign for Congress, she has accepted contributions from a prominent Holocaust denier Pete McCloskey who has given speeches promoting the “so-called Holocaust and praised a right wing group for its efforts to combat conventional wisdom on the genocide.

National Media Response:

Chris Cuomo on CNN  criticized her “ You have retweeted or shown interest in articles that are put out by a website that is basically a platform for extremist thought and anti -Semitism. What are you doing having anything to do with a site like that if you want to represent  New Mexico as a Democrat. Later on in the interview, he stated “You have shown other interests in the web site before. Why would you have anything to do with a web site that is operated or at least provided by a guy who is a Holocaust denier”?

Seth Frantzman of the Jerusalem Post wrote about Plame’s candidacy “”No one in recent memory has run for Congress so prominently and claimed Jews caused America’s wars. He added, “Most people don’t make mistakes and tweet that America’s Jews control America and cause America’s wars unless they hate Jews”.

The Federalist claimed that Plame further shared a 911 conspiracy theory involving “Dancing Israelis.

A fact check by the The Washington Post gave Valerie Plame “Three Pinocchios” for her campaign video in which she claimed “Ukrainian Jewish “ heritage to cover up her anti- Semitic tweets.

Ron Duncan Hart, president of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico stated The issue is her past statements were horrendous,“Her past statements were so extreme that ….it’s something I don’t understand how she can expect to simply ignore it and gloss over it, which is happening”.

Sam Pick, the former Mayor of Santa Fe stated “In my mind, there is no excuse, no rationale to excuse this type of rhetoric. An apology is not enough, especially since Plame has a history of sharing articles from the same source, including one claiming”Israel-Occupied Congress confronts the White House”.

Zackary Benjamin, executive director of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico stated “There is no question that the Jewish community is increasingly a target of this sort of bias”.
